  11. I haven't tried external sort because I don't build many AIXs, and I
  12. haven't had the external sort PTF on the system for very long.  But I
  13. would figure that if you're using external sort, the IDCUTn DDs would
  14. not be needed -- you would instead need SORTWK0n DDs for the sort
  15. package.

  17. There was an old SHARE requirement for IDCAMS BUILDIX to allow use of
  18. external sort.  IBM let it languish until the screams about IDCUTn in
  19. an SMS environment got too loud, then they fixed it by answering an
  20. old, seemingly unrelated requirement.  Amusing...
