  19.              ERIC/IR SEEKS CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE DATABASE

  22. As you may know, ERIC (the Educational Resources Information Center) is
  23. a federally sponsored information system for the field of education.
  24. Its main product is the ERIC Database, the world's largest source of
  25. education information.  The Clearinghouse on Information Resources
  26. (ERIC/IR) is one of sixteen subject-specialized clearinghouses making
  27. up the ERIC system.  ERIC/IR collects documents for the database in the
  28. fields of library/information science and educational technology.

  30. Authors who wish to share their research findings, position papers,
  31. curriculum materials, project descriptions, and other informative
  32. pieces with their colleagues find a unique vehicle in the ERIC
  33. database.  This constantly updated information system brings together
  34. such unpublished, hard-to-find materials on all phases, levels, and
  35. subject areas of education.  More than 340,000 documents are already
  36. available to the public in nearly 900 libraries and institutions that
  37. hold an ERIC microfiche collection.

  40. document reviewed for inclusion in ERIC, send 2 paper copies to the
