  20. Please be aware that the ROMs were not maliciously altered such that other
  21. system levels would not work, it's just that each new machine requires code
  22. support.  This was not an attempt to force people to use System 7, nor is it
  23. the first time that it has happened (try running an FX on an old system for
  24. example...).  I have heard that a special version of system 6.0.8 called 6.0.8P
  25. (for Performa) may be available.

  37. Try launching WordFinder with the option key down.  That will cause it to
  38. launch into the application heap and it should behave as it did before.  Note
  39. that this does not work for all Desk Accessories, but it does work for most of
  40. them.

  42. Personally, I like System 7, but I do a LOT of networking and network
  43. administration and the advanced network features are very valuable to me.
