  21. Well first of all I would not recommend you buying any software at all!
  22. There are plenty of free types of CWIS software around; but the best
  23. and most exciting has got to be Gopher. Telnet to gopher.uiuc.edu. and
  24. login as gopher. If you've got a Mac or Unix box on an ethernet at a
  25. internet (JIPS) site then you're going to have lots of fun! There are a
  26. few gopher servers in the UK; you'll find them if you nose around.

  28. The only University in the UK that has CWIS software that I know of is
  29. Bristol University; they give away the Bristol Information Software
  30. (bis) to any University that wants it (I think). If you look up a list
  31. of Janet addresses and call bristol.info (or similar) you should get
  32. there. It's (mistakenly in my view) been adopted for the soon to be
  33. announced Janet.News service. Frankly, I thought it was excellent when
  34. I first looked at it; but really now I think gopher beats it hands
  35. down. Sorry Bristol!
