  23.     James talks about how instant on radar tends to make detector
  24.     usage almost useless, well I have to add a note about something
  25.     that is in use around here that makes detectors TOTALLY useless!

  27.     This "thing" is call VASCAR. It involves the cop pushing a button
  28.     on a timer when he sees you pass some point, and then push
  29.     another button  when you pass another point. It is a total sham!
  30.     And yes I get a nice shiny ticket due to a cops less than
  31.     spectacular reaction times!  Also when the cop pulled me over
  32.     he was not amused to see my (not useful this time) radar detector..
  33.     I kind of think having the detector just ensured I got a ticket
  34.     rather than a warning. Haven't used the $250 wondor of technology
  35.     since.
