  20. I have a radar detector that is about 2-3yrs old.  When new, it was one of the
  21. best around.  Now, I still think it is a very good one.  I am originally from
  22. Ohio and used it on trips back and forth.  However, in the past year I have
  23. gotten 2 speeding tickets while using my radar detector.  The reason is
  24. that NC and recently PA highway patrol have "instant on" radar guns.  That
  25. is their radar guns work like a gun.  They have a trigger that turns them
  26. on and off very quickly.  This gives you a fraction of a second to slow
  27. down if you are speeding.  This isn't enough.  So, I have stopped using my
  28. radar detector.

  30. I haven't looked into radar detectors since so I'm not sure if the technology
  31. has changed to improve radar detectors.
