- The William & Ida Friday Continuing Education Center in Chapel Hill

- Introductions: who we are and why we are here (10 minutes)

- What is the name of our group? (5 minutes)

- Committee reports: hopefully including information on internal
- communication methods and how others can get involved (10 minutes each)

- Communication: listserv, newsgroup -- how can communication be improved?

- How do we get the system get started? (15 minutes)

- Option A: Develop a business plan and a database development plan. Then
- solicit funds from corporations and granting agencies. Wait until we have
- funding before building the system.

- Option B: Build a prototype on a home computer using whatever freeware we
- can find and start putting data in, while also developing plans. Then we
- can ask for funds for expanding an existing service.

- Option C: Ask a major corportation for a machine (at least on loan);
- gather enough funds to acquire the FreePort software ($850) and build a
- prototype. Then we can ask for funds for expanding an existing service.
