- Actually, there are some women who abort who would prefer to give birth
- and give the child up for adoption, but *cannot* afford to be pregnant.
- In the case of a woman I knew, she wasn't in great health, but would
- have suffered no permanent damage from having the child. She _would_
- however, have had to leave work during her 7th month of pregnancy. She
- was in a low-paying, no benefits job, and would have had no money coming
- in during the last 2 months, and no job to go back to once she had
- the child. She also would not have been able to afford pre-natal care,
- or hospitalization if she got ill.
