  14. The individual who responded to the question that began this thread,
  15. never clearly advocated activism to deny women their right to
  16. abortion.  Like most mainstream Christians I know -- and believe it or
  17. not, I know several (I grew up in Orange County, CA where the number
  18. of churches per capita is astounding) -- he articulated his personal
  19. philosophy for why he (I seem to recall he had a masculine sounding
  20. name) won't have an abortion.

  22. He seemed to imply that he thought no one else should have abortions,
  23. but he never clearly opined that he wanted to see the Stark Fist of
  24. Uncle Sam actively preventing abortions -- which is interesting,
  25. because the original question was (paraphrased):

  27.     ``Why do Christians want to outlaw abortion?''
  28.  
  29. And his answer was (paraphrased):
  30.  
  31.     ``Because we think it's akin to infanticide. So should
  32. everyone else.''
