- How do you perform a variable transformation on a PDE? For instance,
- I have something like Laplacian[phi[x,y]], and I want to do the
- transformation (x,y) -> (xi,eta), where xi=x and eta=y/f(x). Is there
- a way to do this? I've used macsyma to do this in the past, but it's
- a real pain copying equations from one to the other.
-
- On a much more general note, is there a FAQ for this newsgroup, and if
- so, where?
-
- Thanks,
- Dave
