- The string theorists used to talk about "SU[3] holonomy", this being the
- holonomy group of a 3D Kahler manifold which is Ricci-flat. This is
- true, however, only if the Ricci tensor is EXACTLY zero. If you take a
- 3D Kahler manifold with scalar curvature s, then the holonomy is not
- SU[3] but rather U[3], NO MATTER HOW SMALL s is. I wonder if this has
- any bearing on the cosmological constant problem, he speculated idly.
