- I once heard a quote that I really enjoyed, but have since lost it. It
- was (if I remember correctly, which I may not) was from a review of a
- writing on analytic geometry from several hundred years ago, which
- referred to the subject as something like "a scabrous collection of
- symbols". If anyone out there can either
