- For some years, a sterilization method for water has been used that
- works with Copper. A pair of electrodes is placed in a jet of water and
- an electrolytic reaction is activated by an external applied current.
- Does anyone have more information on this mechanism : Some of my
- questions are :
-
- * What concentration of Cu(OH)2 is needed to sterilize water for
- drinking/swimming purposes ?
-
- * Is there a risk of CuO being formed, what concentration of CuO
- is harmfull to people ?
-
- I'd really appreciate any help on this topic,
- Please take into account that I'm not a chemist but an electronics
- engineer!
- (In case you send me an answer that raises more questions than I had
- before...)
-
- Thanks in advance !
