  13. A couple of weeks ago, I posted looking for PC-board 
  14. fabricators. I got a few good leads, and here they are 
  15. (sorry for the delay). They are in no particular order 
  16. (just me going through my folder) and they include 
  17. pricey places to get multilyer flexible boards, as well 
  18. as dirt cheap places with no plated through holes. I got  
  19. feeling that this was a representative sampling (there 
  20. were about 10 other places I called, and didn't record 
  21. their info) since I like to call aroud and get a sense of 
  22. the market... but I could be wrong. Anyway...

  27. I eventually went with PSI Inc in Oregon, they were very 
  28. flexible and got us quick turn around, of a low number of 
  29. boads, cut to our specs. They were also responsive when 
  30. we told them what type of service other fabricators had 
  31. offered in a particular area. They do 3 day turnaround.

  36. They were a bit pricey, but they have one day turnarond, 
  37. and expressed a willingness to stay nights and weekends 
  38. to do the work. They said they would take something on 
  39. a friday early morning, and do it over the weekend (by 
  40. monday am) and that would be considered 3 day. If I 
  41. could have afforded them, I might have gone with them 
  42. just for their professional zeal. They also called back 
  43. with a quote right away, which was not always the case. 
  44. Also, their normal turnaround time was 5 days (although 
  45. this was obviously still moe expensive that slow 
  46. places).

  51. They were pretty reasonable, and pretty fast, but not 
  52. the fastest or cheapest. However, they do have a neat 
  53. business card which is a circuit board. Their prices did 
  54. seem very competetive is you were getting a really 
  55. small number of boards (we eventually got several 
  56. dozen, but got quotes for less as well)

  61. Trend was expensive... like really expensive. However, 
  62. tey did call back and ask about why we didn't choose 
  63. them after the quote, and they told us that the 
  64. specialize in multilayer (we had 2 layer) boards, and 
  65. "buried capicipance", which eliminates the need for 
  66. bypass capacitors. They sent us some cute literature.

  71. A lot of setup charges, but pretty cheap. They did 7-10 
  72. days as their usual "fast" turn around. They will accept 
  73. 4X laserprinted layout (although they don't like it).

  87. nervous when we tracked them down and gave them a 
  88. call...but, they promised to send us stuff and claimed 
  89. that they still do pcb fabrication REALLY CHEAP, WITH 
  90. PLATED-THROUGH HOLES...

  95. The had a really low quote for small numbers, but their 
  96. turnaround time was not that fast (10-20 working days). 
  97. But, if I had time, I would have gone with them to save 
  98. money.

  102. They were in direct competition with PSI, and they lost 
  103. out by just a bit. I would recommend them for at least a 
  104. quote on any fast job...

  107. That's it. Some of these came from other people on the 
  108. net (thanks!) and some came from looking through the 
  109. electronics yelow pages, etc.... If you are getting a 
  110. quote, it pays to call around, and forget about geography, 
  111. since everythng is done my modem and UPS anyway.
