- For anyone out there with design experience in VLSI and has used
- either MOSIS or Magic in fabricating a project, I would like some advice.
-
- I am planning to do a my senior project here at Cal Poly, and would
- like to do a VLSI design for my project. The project would be fabricated
- by MOSIS (at USC) and would be designed using a layout program like Magic.
- The information that I would like is the following:
-
- 1.) I would like to know if anyone out there has any design
- ideas for useful ICs. My interests are in CMOS or BiCMOS
- digital circuits. If you have a neat idea for a Senior
- Project, please contact me! The project should be limited
- to about 120 hours of work and should operate in the
- 1 to 10 MHz range.
-
- 2.) What kinds of simulation software are useful in VLSI
- circuitry software? (Like ISPICE & CRYSTAL) And where
- can a student get a copy? Unix and OS/2 are the preferred
- platforms (Sun Workstation and IBM PC).
-
- 3.) Is there a version of Magic that has been ported to
- OS/2 2.0? A guy that I know has an old version, but I
- am looking for something a little more current. And where
- can it be acquired?
-
- If anyone has suggestions or comments, please forward them! Information
- concerning designs, MOSIS, or Magic are especially helpful because I am very
- new to this! Thanks in advance! :-)
