- That's been tried. Blair Neumann built and demonstrated such
- a thing, calling it SmarTV. The home unit contained several VCRs
- and a control computer, and based on info transmitted by phone line,
- would construct a commercial-free version of your selected programs
- for later viewing. Blair was a highly visible figure on the WELL,
- and described his product in detail there. He received some
- press coverage when the prototype was demonstrated.
