  13.     Its them dang cats! Seriously! Cats go over fences with the greatest
  14. of ease, and kill just for the sheer pleasure of the chase. A case in point
  15. is the toad population in my own yard. No lack of toads here, lots and lots!
  16. I encourage my dog to chase the cats out of the yard, but have also taught
  17. her to not bother the toads. I live in the woods, with zillions and
  18. zillions of bugs, and since toads eat bugs I try to keep them fat dumb
  19. and happy!

  21.     I have one big fat toad which hangs out on my front porch munching
  22. on the bugs under the light, and another few which like hanging around
  23. under the deck, and a bunch more which inhabit the flower gardens (shade
  24. plants mostly). I always stop and let them get out of the way when I see
  25. one when mowing the lawn, but otherwise I do nothing to encourage them.
  26. Although I have to step lightly around the gravel driveway at night else
  27. I'd squish the ones that like to hang out there...

  29.     I also do not use anything but 100% natural products on my lawn.
  30. No chemicals, pesticides, or otherwise. Occaisionally I throw down some
  31. soybean meal, but that's about it. I have a well, and I want to keep the
  32. water I drink as contaminate free as possible.

  34.     I would do a study of toad population vs kitty population. I think
  35. you'd find that as the kitty population increases, the toad population
  36. vanishes...
