  10. I went outside about 8:30 PM local (0330 UTC) and saw the most incredible
  11. sight. I though it was the moon illuminating a huge patch of clouds.
  12. In fact there isn't a cloud in the sky. I can even see the Milky Way.
  13. But there was this gigantic patch of very bright sky like nothing I
  14. have ever seen. It faded fairly rapidly but was still present when 
  15. I rushed down to my computer to post this.

  17. I see from Cary Oler's post that there was a MAJOR flare, so 
  18. assume that this caused the huge patch of VERY bright light. I
  19. have seen Northern lights and they were NOTHING in comparison to 
  20. this.

  22. Posting from South San Jose (Almaden Valley).  Anybody else see this 
  23. display?  Please post to me or the net.
