-
- There's an even better book on the subject, called "The Amateur Radio
- Astronomer's Handbook", and is written by Robert Sickels. It contains
- all sorts of information about constructing your own equipment, from
- simple radiometers to systems that allow you to detect and record
- pulsars.
-
- There are also plans for a hand-built 12-foot diameter dish antenna
- (I even built one myself).
-
- There is also an organization of radio astronomy amateurs, called
- "Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers" (SARA), and it publishes a journal
- monthly.
-
- It also supports a library of technical data, as well as the sponsoring
- of various activities.
-
- I used to be a member, but let my membership lapse about a year ago.
-
- If you're interested in details, look for an ad in the back of
- Sky and Telescope for "Bob's Electronic Service". Contact them,
- and ask for information about SARA.
-
- I would provide you with the information myself, but it is in my
- office, and I am not and won't be for some time to come.
-
- BTW: Bob's Electronic Service is _THE_ amateur radio astronomer's
- mail-order supply house for radio-telescopes and related hardware.
-
- I'm not endorsing it, I'm simply stating the facts.
