  11. Since a couple of people have asked about beginners scopes,
  12. I would like to know peoples opinions and experiences
  13. with the Edmund Astroscan 2001 (4 1/8 inch f 4.3 sealed reflector 
  14. with ball and stand type mount).  At about $300 with 28mm
  15. eyepiece, is this a good value?  Have the optics of these
  16. scopes generally been decent?  The fact that the optics are
  17. "permanently" fixed in their mounts bothers me a bit, but
  18. I quess for $300 you have to make compromises.
