  24. The Golden Rule has always meant "Treat others as you would be treated
  25. [in their situation]". 'Their situation' includes their prior experiences
  26. and viewpoint. My restatement makes explicit an adaptation of the Golden Rule
  27. to a pluralistic society. I think most people find it as obviously true
  28. as the original. If a Jew comes to your house to dinner, will you serve
  29. him your favorite meal, even if it happens to be pig testicles? Or will
  30. you take into account his beliefs?
