-
- The Golden Rule has always meant "Treat others as you would be treated
- [in their situation]". 'Their situation' includes their prior experiences
- and viewpoint. My restatement makes explicit an adaptation of the Golden Rule
- to a pluralistic society. I think most people find it as obviously true
- as the original. If a Jew comes to your house to dinner, will you serve
- him your favorite meal, even if it happens to be pig testicles? Or will
- you take into account his beliefs?
-
- Thanks for providing an example of my contention that fundamentalists
- see no nead to respect the viewpoints of others.

-
- Where the *FUCK* do you get off assuming I am gay just because I disagree
- with you? *NOR* may you assume I am straight. I refuse to play that game
- with you. Here in Oregon, whoever opposes the OCA get's accused of being
- Gay. It's a witchhunt. Did my bad word offend you? I'm so **FUCKING** sorry.
-
- If you guys minded your own business, so would I. But your coreligionists
- are agitating to legalize discrimination against gays and lesbians, to
- remove numerous books from our libraries, to regulate what is taught
- about homosexuality in the schools. Suggestion: read more of a thread
- before jumping in.

- No, I have escaped the trap that they are still in.

- >Oh? I take it these 'Fundamentalists' have been believers from birth?
-
- Actually, no. It holds true in those who have been believers for several
- years as well.
-

- As a Christian, I always wore a big happy grin. It's easier to get other
- people hooked that way. You forget, sir, I have been there.
