  11. The rank of Eagle Scout is one of the highest obtainable by a BSA youth.

  13. It requires a minimum of 2 years, and 21 merit badges covering citizenship,
  14. physical fitness, survival, emergency preparedness, and practical
  15. knowledge.  In addition, an Eagle Scout must have prepared and directed a
  16. project of benefit to the community.

  18. However, to every Eagle Scout I know, (myself included) it means a lot
  19. more. It is the achievement of a lifetime, and something to be extremely
  20. proud of.  When less than 10% (feel free to correct me..) of all BSA
  21. members actually achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, it is indeed a rare
  22. honor.
