- The rank of Eagle Scout is one of the highest obtainable by a BSA youth.
-
- It requires a minimum of 2 years, and 21 merit badges covering citizenship,
- physical fitness, survival, emergency preparedness, and practical
- knowledge. In addition, an Eagle Scout must have prepared and directed a
- project of benefit to the community.
-
- However, to every Eagle Scout I know, (myself included) it means a lot
- more. It is the achievement of a lifetime, and something to be extremely
- proud of. When less than 10% (feel free to correct me..) of all BSA
- members actually achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, it is indeed a rare
- honor.
