  25. Wellll, most people buy into the 'treat others as you would yourself
  26. be treated' principle, and so do I. This has the fundamental requirement
  27. that you treat them as people - not, for example, as means to an end.
  28. So I take this 'translational invariance' as an axiom.

  30. Bigotry doesn't treat others as people, with all their complexity, but
  31. as cartoon bad guys. The inference about the immorality of bigotry follows
  32. straight away.
