  19. This is very simple. It is a rubber flap that allows the oil to go one
  20. way through the filter and not the other.  Most oil filters have this
  21. "feature" today. (Personally I haven't seen one without it yet)

  23. It is also easy to check if the (brand new and clean :) filter has this flap: 
  24. Try to blow air  through the filter. It should not work, but if you suck, it
  25. should work just fine. (Or was it the opposit? I can't quite remember)
