- I have the same problem. It gets even worse when I connect the VCR.
- This happens:

- TV audio outs connected to preamp: no hum
- Connect antenna (cable) to TV: a bit of hum.

- Disconnect everything.

- VCR audio outs to preamp: Lots of hum
- Connect antenna to VCR: a bit of hum

- Funny, must be something electrical :-)

- The high-end hi-fi store suggested a ground-breaker (they were out at the moment).
- The said it was a common problem.

- Anybody knows what a ground breaker is?? And will it help??
