- I've read the previous posts on cable and have a few comments to add.
-
- Cables are the last components to purchase when building a system, and
- they do make a considerable impact on the sound, believe it or not. To
- make a wise cable purchase one must not decide a minimum price -- that's
- rediculous. . . cable sonics, unlike most other components, vary not
- with price. Buying cable is simply a matter of matching a cable to
- ones system -- a good match will improve every parameter of your other
- components. For example, I read a few reviews on XLO cable that sells
- for 200 bucks a meter. Well I asked my dealer to lend me a pair for
- audition, and he immediately informed me of a poor match. Instead, he
- guided me to a pair of 50 dollar cables that would work well in my system.
-
- When building the ultimate high-end system, just shelling out bucks is not
- the final goal. However, if one finds a 2000 dollar cable that makes
- him or her drool from the music, it is worth the price. In a cost-no-object
- system spending X000 dollars for cable to find an ideal match is not
- uncommon -- luckily I found a close-to-ideal match for my system for around
- one hundreth of the above cost.
