  21. I acquired one from the Federated Group 8 or 9 years ago when my dad
  22. bought a whole bunch of stuff.  (They gave it to him free and had no use
  23. for it.)  I can't quite remember the manufacturer (it wasn't Sony), but
  24. it was called "Mister Disc".  It was great for me at the time since it
  25. was small and would fit into my college apartment room easily.  It was
  26. portable in the sense that it could run on batteries, was very small,
  27. included a soft carrying case and had a headphone/volume jack.  It had no
  28. special features to allow it to be used while in motion.  It was
  29. basically a record player with a very small platter (about 4" across). 
  30. Once I got the tone arm adjusted - it had both weight and anti-skate
  31. controls - and replaced the cartridge with a better one it sounded pretty
  32. good.

  34. It matched up well with my small portable stereo and in later years
  35. complemented my setup's portable CD system.  A complete stereo system in
  36. a desk drawer!  (It should be noted, however, that I don't use it any
  37. longer out of respect to my beloved vinyl LPs.)
