- At these prices I could just buy a DAT, AND a high CD player with digital output
- to make my own tapes (with full 16-bit digital sound, no compression), and
- still pocket a few hundred dollars. MD will never succeed at double
- the price of DAT (not that I think DAT will succeed in the consumer market).
- I also doubt the prices of the discs will be competitive with CDs at first,
- especially with the size of the market for >$1000 players.
