-
- The more limited the distribution the higher the cost. Not enough
- volume to bring the prices down.

-
- I have Pohlman's Digital Audio book but not his new one on CD's. I
- also have Watkinson's book. The latter is (was) $49.95 list. There
- is a world of difference. If you really want to know, on the lowest
- level, Watkinson is the book.
-
- If you don't need that depth try Pohlman. Or conversely. If you read
- Pohlman, and want to know more get the Watkinson book.
-
- I have never found really great tech books priced cheaply. I have
- found some overpriced books. You really almost have to go to a store
- that handles them and look at them yourself.
-
- If you take Watkinon's book on digital and the Camras book "Magnetic
- Recoring" ($79) and read them both, you probably won't have any more
- questions. And if you think ~$130 on a pair of books is expensive,
- it's cheaper than many other forms of education.
-

-
- The Focal books on digital, from Watkinson, are not overpriced in my
- opinion. I can't say on any of their other books.

- Ah, now you're getting smart :-). Must have been those books you've
- read.
