  13. An acquaintance of mine is awaiting the publishing of his biography
  14. of Flo Ziegfeld. It's a very high quality coffee table book and it
  15. has been in the publisher's hands for 2.5 years now. He just recently
  16. got back his proofs and was told to cut 25 percent of the lines
  17. because the book would run an extra signature without the cuts and
  18. would boost the cost of the book from the $50 to $75 range.

  20. There was also trouble with the dust jacket design, they couldn't
  21. get the ink to stick on the metallic foil background on some parts.
  22. So it went back to the art deparment for 6 months.

  24. BTW, most of his advance (five figures) has been eaten away in
  25. research, long distance calls, and photo acquisition rights.
