- wheelchair ramp
- From: JOHNHECHTMAN To: ALL
-
- Folks, you may remember me as the inventor guy with the wheelchair
- ramp, or you may remember the posts from my partner in the project,
- MINSTREL. We are vey close to going into production, and WE NEED
- YOUR HELP!!
-
- See, we've tested the first ramp with several power chairs, a
- number of standard manual chairs, manual chairs with the new
- slanted wheel design, and even oversized manual chairs (for larger
- folks). It works fine for every chair we've tested. We've run a
- motorcycle and one wheel of a car over it too, we know it's strong
- enough!
-
- We've also measured all of the chairs mentioned, and found that a
- standard chair has a 23.5" wheelbase (manual or electric). The
- oversize chairs are an inch or two more.
-
- But we are getting ready to build a really expensive mold for these
- things we need to KNOW what the wheelbase is in the worst possible
- case, before we do so.
-
- So I am asking (well really, I am begging and pleading on bended
- knees!) all of you who are chair users to answer two simple
- questions for us.
-
- 1. What is the wheelbase of YOUR chair?
- 2. What is the wheelbase of the largest chair you know of?
-
- Some of you have already given us information, which is greatly
- appreciated! I'm sorry that I don't have time to thank each one of
- you who has helped us in this project. Guess I'll just have to say
- thanks to all of you!
-
- You can either post the info here, send me or MINSTREL e-mail, or
- post it to my SIG, Custom 26 (Inventors/Inventions). PLEASE help
- us with this information - it's critical to us!
-
- Thanks,
-
- JOHNHECHTMAN
