  14. I, for one, have read with great interest the discussion on MLM.
  15. By the way I don't seem to get alt.business.multi-level.
  16. Is this an actual group, a proposed group, or what?   Anyway,
  17. for that reason, please don't flame me for posting to misc.entrepreneurs.

  19. I had never heard of MLM until ealier this year.  The only MLM I am familier
  20. with now is Amway.  What I would like to know is how other MLM stack up
  21. against Amway and against each other.  Since everyone has a very strong
  22. opinion on this subject, I would like to obtain FACTUAL information on
  23. the various MLMs and compare them myself.  If anyone could point me in the
  24. direction of factual, objective (if it exists) information, I would greatly
  25. appreciate it.  This may include magazine articles, books etc.  Also, anyone
  26. involved in any MLM feel free to EMAIL me information.  I am not necessarily
  27. going to join, but I am interested in finding out more.  The type of
  28. information I am interested in is:

  30.      - What type of products/services does the MLM market
  31.      - How do the various commission levels/bonuses work
  32.        (i.e. "the plan")
  33.      - What is the approximate start up cost
  34.      - What type of support materials are offered, if any
  35.      - Is it available in Canada
  36.      - Background on company.  Years in business, sales, profit etc.

  38. Again I am looking for factual information, not hype.  Anti-MLM people
  39. need not respond, although if you have legitimate negative information
  40. (i.e. So and so company was fined $ for engaging in illegal activities etc.)
  41. that is OK.  Just don't reply with general "it's a scam, it's unethical" type
  42. remarks.  Also, I have already seen the Amway plan several times, been to a 
  43. couple of seminars and read some material on it so I don't really need to
  44. find out anything more about Amway.
