- The folks at Wilderness Medical Associates over in New Hampshire are pretty
- good. They offer an original basic EMT course with the wilderness stuff
- added in. As Ken Lager noted, the idea is to give skills to folks who
- will be away from modern medical facilities for hours or possibly days
- instead of minutes. They WMA folks give courses in NY once to twice a
- year. The graduates are eligible for the NYS EMS exam and many become
- state certified, making them no different than people who take a "regular"
- EMT course as far as job prospects go.
