- Scam? Yes. I'm prepaying $200/month (equal to two extra payments a
- year) on my current mortgage, and the company sends a for that asks for extra
- principle.

- It should be free. It sounds like what they are trying to do is a)
- take money from your account whenever they feel like it and the b) putting it
- towards your mortgage at some later date, allowing them to earn interest (and
- you to forfeit interest) for N days and c) charge you $500 for the privilege!

- Send them a check every month, that way you can vary the pre-payment if
- you want.
