- I bought a unit that has an mercury manometer (sphygmomanometer) and
- is portable. Price around $70. It is in a self-contained metal case
- that includes everything but the stethoscope, i.e. cuff and bulb. The
- way they handle portability is that you tilt the instrument so that
- the manometer is at a 45 degree angle to the vertical and then close a
- valve. This traps all the mercury in a chamber. The case is then
- closed.
