  18. I, too, looked at the KitchenAid models and was very satisified with what
  19. I saw.  However, at the time, I would have had to build all the plumbing
  20. and electrical connections plus the counter under which to put the
  21. dishwasher (plus a fair bit of other constuction, undoubtably).

  23. I ended up buying a "portable" model, made by InSinkErator.  Comparing
  24. models of the under-counter, InSinkErator seemed to be a bit less
  25. expensive that the exact same model of KitchenAid, even though they are
  26. made by the exact same company.  The explanation by the sales person was
  27. that InSinkErator tends to be sold through contractors (hence harder to
  28. find by mortals) while KitchenAid is retail (available at local Circuit
  29. City).

  31. Moral: If you want KitchenAid, also check out InSinkErator. Same guts,
  32. different packaging.
