  21.  The environmental group Greenpeace has accused the British
  22. government of stepping up the dumping of ammunition into the
  23. Atlantic, arguing London plans to dump more than 18,000 tons of
  24. ammunition into the sea this year.

  26. Greenpeace says this is more than the combined total for the last
  27. five years, adding this practice violates the London Convention,
  28. which establishes mandatory international rules for the disposal of
  29. toxic waste. (R. Havana)

  33.  Riots are continuing in Germany, with left-wing demonstrators
  34. clashing with right-wing youths in the east of the country. The
  35. leftists were protesting against four nights of attacks on a local
  36. hostel for people seeking asylum.

  38. Hundreds of police were deployed in riot gear, backed by water 
  39. cannons and tear gas grenades, to escort the 250 demonstrators who
  40. came mainly from west Germany. They marched around the streets of
  41. the medieval town, chanting anti-nazi slogans and fighting with
  42. groups of local youths who taunted them with fascist slogans or
  43. Hitler salutes.

  45. In the four previous nights, right-wing youth threw rocks and
  46. bottles at the refuge, attacking a peaceful anti-racist
  47. demonstration and a group of citizens who held a silent vigil
