  31. On October 12, 1992, Native American Solidarity Day, Indian People from
  32. throughout the Western Hemisphere and their supporters will assemble at
  33. noon in Dag Hammersjold Plaza at the United Nations Building to condemn
  34. 500 years of genocide, and to demand a voting seat for Indian People in
  35. the United Nations General Assembly.

  37. The League of Indigenous Sovereign Nations of the Western Hemisphere
  38. (LISN) is raising long overdue demands of sovereignty and self-
  39. determination for millions of Indian People threatened by the wanton
  40. theft of the sacred lands by resouce hungry multinational corporations.
  41. Only the complete unification of all Indian Nations into one great
  42. alliance can prevent the ongoing rape of native land.  Indian People
  43. from Tierra del Fuego to the Arctic Circle are standing together to
  44. say "NO" to genocide and exploitation, and to demand an independent
  45. voice in the international community.

  47. LISN was established May 24-27, 1991, on Piscataway Nation Land, when
  48. native peoples came from throughout the Western Hemisphere to draft
  49. a preliminary Declaration of Principles.  Since then there have been
  50. additional LISN gatherings at Rosebud, Lakota Nation, and Kahnewake
  51. Mohawk Nationa, generating great enthusiasm.  A week-long gathering
  52. is planned in New York City to coincide with the October rally.

  54. LISN is a political organization of allied Indian Nations.  It has
  55. facilitated forums for nation building by creating a Treaty Alliance
  56. Conference among native nations.  To date, it has lobbied many Indian
  57. nations and the idea of a "United Nations of Indian People" is blazing
  58. like of forest fire in the wind.  LISN's efforts will ultimately
  59. expose the 500 years of genocide, and establish an international
  60. alliance of Warrior Societies to resist the continuing plundering of
  61. Mother Earth and the brutal disregard for the lives of the elders,
  62. women and children.

  64. Non-native sisters and brothers are encouraged to show support for
  65. Native American self-determination by assisting LISN in organizing
  66. the October 12, 1992 Demonstration.
