  25. ORGANIZED THOUGHTS is a new forum for discussing Industrial Democracy,
  26. a proposed socioeconomic system based on collective ownership and
  27. democratic control of the industries and services.
  28.  
  29. The goal is direct majority-vote control of the workplace by the
  30. workers, as opposed to political solutions which call for
  31. administration through a "vanguard party" or a "workers' state".  The
  32. focus is on abolition of the wage system, NOT on getting rid of the
  33. capitalist only to be exploited instead by government bureaucrats.

  35. We need to transcend the limitations of today's craft unionism, which
  36. divides workers according to trade and jurisdiction, instead of
  37. uniting us.  Our focus is on the Industrial Union program, which calls
  38. for a workplace-based association of the entire working class.

  40. The goal is much more than "a living wage".  The goal is to create
  41. workers' self-management in a classless society.

  43. Most of the arguments in this journal come from either a Wobbly
  44. (syndicalist) or a Marxist-DeLeonist perspective.
