- Austin, Texas, U S A - ADAPT protestors picketed the
- Austin Hilton Hotel, 6000 Middle Fiskville Road, site of
- the Austin local segments of the Jerry Lewis Muscular
- Dystrophy Telethon, from about noon to 3 p m, this
- American Labor Day, September 7, 1992.
- We did some chanting and we had some posters and
- flyers. "Jerry's Not Our Father - We're Not Kids!" was
- one of the chants. Reporters from two local television
- stations and from the daily newspaper stopped by and
- interviewed us.
- To my knowledge, protests of the Jerry Lewis Telethon
- were scheduled for some 30 cities across America.
- Austin's protest was a rather mild exercise of
- Constitutional rights. We await reports from other
- cities.
