- For those of you who are members of the IEEE Computer Society you will
- have recently received a green envelope in the mail recently with the
- annual Computer Society election ballots. Past history shows that we
- receive an approximately 13% return. Obviously, this is not a true
- representative sample of the CS membership. The officers of TCOS urge
- you to return your ballot and make your vote count. You will note that
- there are several individuals running for office who have long
- involvement with TAB. While there is no guarantee that these are the
- "best people", they certainly do have TABs interest at heart. In the
- positions of First and Second vice-president Joe Boykin is currently
- the VP of TAB, a past Chair of TCOS and vice-chair of TAB. Anneliese
- von Mayrhauser has been TAB treasurer, secretary, TCSE Chair and member
- of the TAB executive committee.
-
- For the Board of Governors you will also note a number of people
- involved in TAB. For example, Tad Ichikawa is Chair of our new Task
- Force on Multimedia computing.
-
- If you have questions about these people, you should ask them, but
- please, send in your ballot. At a time when there are such significant
- changes occurring within the Computer Society, we who are a part of the
- Technical Committees and TAB should make sure that our voice is heard.
