  13. I have been trying to find statistics on the pattern of sales of
  14. various technologies to the consumer market from the date of
  15. introduction to the current year.  What I want to do is to chart
  16. the various curves, relate those curves to technology that is
  17. being developed and/or has recently been introduced.  The resultant
  18. charts will be used to provide some framework for budget planning
  19. in our large school district.
  20.  
  21. For example, what did the sales curve of color television look
  22. like and can it be used to plan for the obsolescence of NTSC in
  23. our schools when HDTV becomes a consumer product?
  24.  
  25. Any pointers toward appropriate sources of information will be
  26. greatly appreciated!
