- I have been trying to find statistics on the pattern of sales of
- various technologies to the consumer market from the date of
- introduction to the current year. What I want to do is to chart
- the various curves, relate those curves to technology that is
- being developed and/or has recently been introduced. The resultant
- charts will be used to provide some framework for budget planning
- in our large school district.
-
- For example, what did the sales curve of color television look
- like and can it be used to plan for the obsolescence of NTSC in
- our schools when HDTV becomes a consumer product?
-
- Any pointers toward appropriate sources of information will be
- greatly appreciated!
