  12. I have just finished compiling gcc 2.2.2.

  14. Upon using it to compile and link code that was previously compiled
  15. under 1.37.1, I get the following message after the link step:

  17.     file path prefix 'static' never used
  18.  
  19. What's the deal here?  What does it mean? Is it a warning, or a fatal
  20. error message?

  22. Also, can anyone give me a reference to documentation describing how
  23. to get gnu emacs to load the gcc.info files?
