- Anyone care to elaborate on what is the considered the latest
- "reliable" gcc release? I see in the README for 2.2.2 that it is
- considered a beta test release, and I'm somewhat concerned with that.
- We've been using 1.37.1 for quite a while on sparcs, and it's high
- time to upgrade.
-
- I'm also generally interested in the issue of linking Sun-cc compiled
- (the free cc) files with gnu-cc compiled files. I was under the
- assumption that this is expected to work, and if it doesn't, it's a
- bug. Am I wrong? Indeed, it is a problem with return-values with
- mixing 1.37.1 with Sun-cc code that has prompted us to look into a
- newer gcc version.
