  12. Anyone care to elaborate on what is the considered the latest
  13. "reliable" gcc release?  I see in the README for 2.2.2 that it is
  14. considered a beta test release, and I'm somewhat concerned with that.
  15. We've been using 1.37.1 for quite a while on sparcs, and it's high
  16. time to upgrade.

  18. I'm also generally interested in the issue of linking Sun-cc compiled
  19. (the free cc) files with gnu-cc compiled files.  I was under the
  20. assumption that this is expected to work, and if it doesn't, it's a
  21. bug.  Am I wrong?  Indeed, it is a problem with return-values with
  22. mixing 1.37.1 with Sun-cc code that has prompted us to look into a
  23. newer gcc version.
