  19.    You people may already know all about this. Forgive me if so. A friend
  20.    was talking to a Sun rep about solaris. I'm sure you know they are no
  21.    longer bundling the C compiler with it. The rep claimed, however, that
  22.    Sun's cheap ($700) C compiler won't successfully compile gcc. They must
  23.    be trying to make things difficult for you.

  25. Well, the last time I tried, Sun's C compiler built GCC just fine.  But
  26. this doesn't matter, since gcc compiles gcc just fine.  There is no need
  27. for another C compiler on Solaris 2.  Prebuilt binaries of gcc are
  28. available in ftp.uu.net:/vendor/cygnus, as well as a few other places.  The
  29. next Sun Catalyst CD-ROM will also have binaries available.
