- [ future talk to gnu.misc.discuss or some such, since this isn't germane to
- gcc bugs ]

-
- You people may already know all about this. Forgive me if so. A friend
- was talking to a Sun rep about solaris. I'm sure you know they are no
- longer bundling the C compiler with it. The rep claimed, however, that
- Sun's cheap ($700) C compiler won't successfully compile gcc. They must
- be trying to make things difficult for you.
-
- Well, the last time I tried, Sun's C compiler built GCC just fine. But
- this doesn't matter, since gcc compiles gcc just fine. There is no need
- for another C compiler on Solaris 2. Prebuilt binaries of gcc are
- available in ftp.uu.net:/vendor/cygnus, as well as a few other places. The
- next Sun Catalyst CD-ROM will also have binaries available.
