- I have compiled GNU gcc 2.2.2 on Interactive Systems Corp Sys V/386
- release 3.2. When Trying to compile a template class with debugging
- turned on ( -g ), I got the following:
-
- Assempler: geo1.c
- aline 512 : Illegal character after '<'
- aline 512 : syntax error
-
- I assume this is some incompatibility between as and gcc. My question
- is A.) would this be remedied by using the GNU assembler ( gas ), and
- B.) does that mean I have to recompile gcc/g++, or is there a switch to
- set somewhere that I haven't found yet?
-
- This problem will be fixed in the next release of gcc. gas has
- nothing to do with it.
