- I have been using the dired & and Ange-ftp combination for a while now
- and I had a question. Is there a way to make a file that you ftp from
- say /pub/msdos/file.idx automatically go into a default directory in
- your account instead of having to backspace over all of the host/path
- stuff in the line?
-
- You don't have to backspace over the existing path. Just append:
-
- '/~/myfilename'
-
- to the existing path and Emacs will pick up the '~', discard
- everything previous, and you'll be happy.
