- John, we seem to have elminated the $400 savings to drivers as a way
- to encourage carpooling in another thread, and obviously HOV lanes
- done't work. And that wonderful "Kalaka" comercial from years ago
- didn't do it.. How would you encourage carpooling? Is carpooling
- something that should be encouraged? If everyone carpooled wouldn't
- that ruin our economy by putting gas stations out of business? I guess
- I feel that the HOV lane would not be a problem if it had never been
- opened to abnormal traffic. The HOV lane should always have been an
- HOV lane. The main reason for the big backup last tuesday was the
- accident (I remember those happening even before the toll road was
- built) not the lack of a third lane.
