- I am looking for a GIF library that will read a gif file and
- load it into an X Pixmap.

- Is there such a beast?
-
- speed is important.
- multiple images will be loaded.
- effective use of colormap is important.
- resolution of quntization a plus, but I could ensure that pictures
- contain less than N (~100) colors.
-
- Where can I locate this? (ftp site)
-
- Consider looking at xloadimage and xv to see how they do things. I
- once used a part of xloadimage as a library to do this, and obtained
- good results. If you have Motif, then one of the demo programs,
- motifgif, does this as well.
