- A while back I posted a question about a problem I was having with
- my new IPX in X. The problem was that when I moved windows around
- under X with twm or mwm, their contents were not getting redrawn,
- both in opaque and transparent move.
-
- I got two replies. The first suggested there was an X patch that
- I needed for the IPX display to work. We got all the patches for
- X11R5 and recompiled (using gcc) and still had the problem.
-
- The other reply I received said he had experienced the same problem
- and recompiling with a higher revision of gcc solved the problem.
- (we were using gcc 1.4). After recompiling with the Sun cc, the
- problem went away! Things work fine now (so far :-) We are going
- to try gcc 2.1 eventually.
-
- Thanks for all the replies I got. Maybe this should be put in the
- FAQ.
